I will praise and give thanks to You with uprightness of heart when I learn [by sanctified experiences] Your righteous judgments [Your decisions against and punishments for particular lines of thought and conduct]. Psalm 119:7 (AMP)
We must praise Him – Praise is appropriate, praise is attractive, praise is comely to the saints – It is the proper response for everything. No matter what we are going through in our lives – no matter what the trials, issues, circumstances – praise will lead us toward the solution. When we praise God we are adoring Him for not only what He does but who He is. We are humbling ourselves or bringing ourselves out of the limelight to focus entirely on the awesomeness of God. How majestic He is – how loving, patient, and kind He is. How gracious He is – How he puts up with us and blesses us in spite of ourselves. When we praise Him we acknowledge that we are nothing without him – we give him homage, respect, reverence for loving us when we are so undeserving of that love – Is the trash and clutter clogging up your life – then Praise is the proper response.David said I will bless the Lord at all times His praise shall continually be in my mouth. David understood clearly his shortcomings – He knew he was messed up – He knew he couldn’t add up and that his righteousness was filthy – but He blessed God because he recognized that God loved Him (agaped) Him in spite of his ways.
Praise does not come naturally to everyone. But with persistence every believer can learn to praise God in all things.
Who is to praise God (Psa. 145:4,5, Isa. 55:12) tells us that all of God’s people and all of creation should praise Him.
How do you praise God? Psa 33:1-3 praise is expressed with words and music.
What do you praise God for? Psa 150;2 – God is praised for his greatness
Why do you praise God? Rev. 5:12 – God is worthy of your praise!
Praise to God is your best weapon against the devil. When you praise God you are showing everyone – the heavenly hosts, powers, principalities, demons, angels – everyone that your God is worthy of praise regardless of your circumstances! Praise produces victory and victory produces praise – it’s a cyclical process!
Praise is Appropriate and Praise is Necessary!
