16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish.
18 Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.
19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!
20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.
Definitely the psalmist knew where to turn when in trouble when penning this Psalm. We can be confident that when those times come, and they will come, when we are lonely and afflicted, when our heart troubles are multiplied….we can get peace and freedom from the Lord! When our enemies seem many – desiring to destroy us, the Lord will guide and rescue us and we can take refuge in Him!
Our society is going through so many transitions right now – we are STILL at war, families are without loved ones, the economy is suffering, gas prices have skyrocketed….everyone is struggling just to make ends meet. BUT….we have a Savior we can turn to! Although everything seems a mess around us, we have hope because our hope is in Jesus Christ.
I know like everyone else, you are probably going through right now. Honestly, I don’t know anyone that isn’t! But you have Hope if your hope and trust is in Jesus Christ. Unlike the world that is looking for answers, looking for a way out – you must know where to turn! He will be your refuge, your strength, your protector and your guard if your Hope is in Him! Stay encouraged.
