In my devotion this morning I was met with Asaph who had viewed the destruction of the Jerusalem temple and penned these words, “Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.” – Psalm 74:12
There is so much destruction and calamity in the world right now. The BP spill and so many other devastating events are happening to people every day. I look even at some things happening in my own life right now and sometimes you shake your head in wonder. However, God IS working salvation in the midst of the earth. Asaph realized that God was still on the throne and I, too, remind myself of this fact. Don’t be dismayed by what you see – realize that God is at work despite everything that goes on around us.
On another note, if you didn’t know, I made the commitment back in November to go completely natural with my hair. Yes, I have been delivered from the creamy crack (perm) and I don’t know what took me so long. I have been known for years to have a million hairstyles, so much so that people often didn’t recognize me because I changed styles so often. It was fun! But now I’m old! lol – I want carefree, low maintenance and freedom! I can’t tell anyone else what to do with their hair – it’s a personal choice – but I am natural and loving it! But let’s be clear….although I am natural – I’m not ready to embrace naturally gray – so my natural will definitely have unnatural coloring! lol
