In the early 1980’s local civic groups felt the need to have a facility in the community that would house civic organization meetings. Thus, in 1986 The Harbert Center opened and became the home of civic and professional organizations and countless other meetings, wedding receptions, award ceremonies and many other events for the Birmingham community.
One person who gets to experience the excitement of each event from beginning to end is Chandrel Wright-Richardson, Executive Director and Certified Wedding Specialist for The Harbert Center.
