1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.
Here again David, a repentant man, realized that he was, indeed, blessed because the Lord did not count his sins against him. We, too, are so blessed because of that same fact. We often look at the things we see to validate God’s blessings upon us. We look at how someone is seemingly prospering, financially, materialistically or by other visual means. But we are all blessed! Just the fact that God does not count our sins against us is an overwhelming reason to give Him praise!
Jesus, in His infinite wisdom, knew that we would never be able to earn His love! There is really nothing that we could ever do to merit God’s favor and redemption! But He has chosen, in spite of our inadequacies, to forgive us for our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness through His precious blood.
You may not have a lot today. You may not appear by the standards of others to be blessed – but you are! You are blessed and you are also blessed to be a blessing! You’ve been forgiven, you’ve been redeemed, you’ve been set free in spite of all your failures, in spite of all your inadequacies, in spite of what you do or do not have! Go forward and be a blessing to someone else because you, yourself, have been blessed with the undying, unfailing, unfaltering love of Jesus Christ! who looks beyond all of your faults and sees your needs.
