I’m on vacation for a few days so please forgive me if I don’t write consistently. However, this morning I was flying the friendly skies and was seated next to a young gentleman. We had just boarded and were preparing to take off when the plane started making some very strange sounds – almost gurgling like! So unsettling, right? The gentleman looked at me as the sound continued for a second time and he said, “I hope we make it.” I thought about that statement. Although the sound wasn’t pleasant, I still had a sure hope: one way or the other God was going to bring me through. Had the plane fell out the sky I would have had the assurance as Paul stated, “To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord.” Or I would arrive to my destination safely – either way I win!
It reminded me of the time Jesus told the disciples tha tthey were going to get in the boat and go to the other side. He then went into the belly of the ship and went to sleep. The disciples panicked at the first sight of a storm and woke Jesus up as they wondered whether or not He cared that they were going to perish in the storm. After Jesus calmed the seas he replied, “Didn’t I tell you we were going to the other side?” That was a sure hope. God has already made provision for them – he laid out the plan and it was done. If God has told you to whatever it is He’s told you, then Its on Him to follow through. You have a sure hope that He’s going to supply all your need – no matter what it looks like!
