1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
I thought this was an awesome Psalm and I thought of it as a prayer that we should hold in our hearts for one another. This week I made a painful business decision, but the outpouring of other believers was so great and encouraging that my heart is settled and I am peace with my decision. When I read this Psalm I thought of all the people that encouraged me, sent me emails, blessing God’s work within me and I was grateful to have supporters that pray for me and wish me well. Surely, we will always have those that won’t wish us well, including some who belong to the household of faith, but that shouldn’t stop us from having this prayer for other saints: May the Lord answer you when you are in distress, May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion, May he remember all your sacrifices, may He give you the desire of yoru heart and make all your plans succeed (even when they don’t look like they’re succeeding, His word says that ALL things are working for your good). What a beautiful body of Christ I belong to – we can shout together when God has done something victorious through His saints –
I sincerely, earnestly and wholeheartedly wish this prayer for YOU! Pay it forward!
